Overview Of Academy of Real Estate

The Academy of Real Estate is a real estate located in Mobile Alabama. This real estate school started teaching real estate classes in 2001 so they do have a very long track record.

Unlike many real estate schools today this school only offers physical classroom based classes at an actual physical location.

They have three locations as shown below:

  • Mobile
  • Daphne
  • Orange Beach

The Mobile school is a six week class that meets Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from am to 1pm.

The Daphne class is an evening school that is nine weeks long that meets Monday Wednesday and three Friday nights from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Their Orange Beach class is a daytime class that meets 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday and Thursday and 3 pm Monday.

The Academy of Real Estate in Alabama is a small real estate school and does not offer all of the newest advances in technology such as live Zoom conferencing or online access.

In-Depth Look At Academy of Real Estate Course

Academy of Real Estate in Alabama offers the Alabama 60 hour pre-licensing courses via live classroom setting only.

As stated above they do not offer live online classes or move at your own pace online courses. They do however direct you to the Career Academy of Real Estate to take online courses but they themselves do not offer them.

They do offer support when needed which comes in the form asking questions to the instructor in the actual classroom setting.

All of the instructors used by this real estate school are certified by the Alabama Real Estate commission and teach from years of experience in the real estate industry. So not only will you learn from the curriculum provided but you will also learn from their years of experience in the real estate industry.

The 60 hour pre-licensing course is designed to teach you what you need to know to pass the Alabama state real estate license exam.

They have four in class tests and a final exam that prepares for the State Exam.

After passing their course final, students register for the State Exam on the goamp.com website.

With the cost of tuition, you will receive hard copy books so learning at the Academy of Real Estate is basically old school learning. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, but many people today like to have the convenience of modern technology such as live Zoom webinars and online courses to help them with learning.

The Academy of Real Estate Alabama does not offer any type of passing guarantee as you see with some online real estate schools such as Real Estate Express and AceableAgent.

According to the Alabama Real Estate Commission, their pass rates are near 80% which is quite high compared to industry average. You can see these stats here.

The do seem to update their curriculum as needed which is good to keep up with changes in the real estate industry.

Academy of Real Estate Pricing

The cost for the pre-licensing course is $389 and which includes the books and handouts. This is comparable to most real estate courses you will find online and offline.

The problem is it’s very hard to judge whether the class is worth the $389 fee. There is so little information on their website that it’s very hard to tell what you get for the money.

What is clear is that they offer one price only and as stated above, the class is taught in a classroom setting in one of their three physical locations.

Pros

  • Close to 20 years of teaching real estate education.
  • All instructors are certified by the Alabama Real Estate commission.
  • All instructors have years in the field of real estate.

Cons

  • Horrible website experience with very little info about their class offering.
  • Two day response times.
  • Only live physical classroom classes are offered.
  • Do not offer live Zoom conferencing or webinars as an alternative to classroom.
  • Do not offer online courses that you can take at your own pace.

Conclusion And Verdict

If you’re looking to get your real estate license in the state of Alabama and need to get the 60 hours of pre-licensing education, we do not recommend the Academy of Real Estate Alabama.

While they have been teaching real estate for close to 20 years and do have state certified teachers, their course offerings just do not compare what you can find with other Alabama real estate schools.

Their website which not only lacks good information and is very minimal at best, the user experience to learn what their programs are about is difficult and confusing.

Besides that, the fact that the school only has physical classroom course offerings and no web conferencing or online access for students, leaves this school way behind in what’s happening in today’s world of real estate education.
